Out of the cage.

Rudi Anapolski, an important figure (person) in Soviet culture who led a comfortable life in Russia was tired of his country's policies. He succeeded with the help of friends to escape to America. But life there was not easy. Rudi had recurring nightmares about Russia. He couldn't find a job as good as the one he had in Russia and neither did his wife Nadia. They miss their country and they worry about their own child not having any attachment for Russia, yet they are happy, he is free.
In my point of view, It is very difficult to live far from one's own land and country. Rudi and his wife don't feel at home in America their regret and miss Russia where they had important jobs. They know that they can no longer go back home. But they're happy their child will be a free man.

On free soil.

Tom Tsang Shek escaped his own country ( China) to go to America where he prospered as owner of a fast-food restaurant. He married an Ethopian woman and they worked hard in order to open their own restaurant. In America Tom is a free man. He is impressed by people's wealth but afraid of their lack of discipline and loss of moral values. Even if his nephew and nieces have been refused visas he still is grateful to America since he because a U.S citizen.
In my opinion, a chinese man fled his own country looking for freedom and dignity. America offered him a financial security but puzzled him a lot.

Give me a Big Mac and hold the beef.

The New Delhi's Mc Donald's restaurant is much like any other in the world except for a small sign which says that beef is not sold there. Because the cow is reverred everywhere and because there are 140 muslims in India, it is surprising to see Mc Donald's there since only chicken and mutton can be offered. To be commercially viable neither beef not pork is allowed. Yet, some people believe that all the fast-food outlets are losing money because Indians have an ancient food culture which they want and fight to preserve. In my point of view, because of many reasons ( religion, culture, economy) Indians are ready to fight against the threat which the American fast-food companies represents.

Marketing America.

Two ordinary and common teenagers have found out the way to pay their first year of college. A huge US corporation which issues credit cards will give them 140 000 dollars each in exchange of their services. They will use their personnal web site to publicize the company.
In my opinion, the text emphasizs one main idea which is that teenagers in America whose parents are not rich enough must work hard in order to pay for their studies. The father who speaks in this text deplores this sad reality.
